Pongal Revelry at Nazareth College

CHENNAI: A colourful Pongal celebration was held on the grounds of Nazareth College of Arts and Science, Avadi on January 13.

The dish, pongal, was prepared by 12 teams of students and colourful rangolis were drawn. Prizes were distributed for the best rangoli and the tastiest pongal.

Film director and actor V Gouthaman was the chief guest.

A N Henry Maris, secretary, presided over the function. Principal Dr Hemalatha Thiagarajan said, “This is an occasion that proves that the young can safeguard and follow tradition just as well as people from the older generation.”

The programme was arranged by Kirubananth, Prof Barath Kumar, Prof Senthil, Prof Thiagarajan and Prof Joshua J John.
