Terror Suspects to Stay in Custody

BENGALURU: The police custody of three of the four arrested terror suspects — Ismail Afaq, Saddam Hussein and Abdul Suboor — has been  extended by another

14 days by the 49th City Civil and Sessions Court.

As Wednesday was the last day of police custody, the city police approached the court and requested more time to interrogate the accused. The court obliged and extended the police custody till February 3.

The Anti-terror Squad of the Maharashtra police too had requested police custody of the three men, based on the suspicion that they might have been involved in the 2011 Mumbai blasts, in which 26 people died and over a hundred were injured. However, the court rejected the request citing technical reasons.
