Won't Act Against School, Say Cops

BENGALURU: The city police will not initiate criminal proceedings against the school, whose student, a 15-year-old girl, committed suicide earlier this week.

According to senior police officials, the parents have not approached them about filing a complaint and they do not want to blame anybody.

The girl jumped from the 10th floor of her apartment after the school allegedly suspended her for a day for her ‘friendship’ with a boy.

Held for Murder

Peenya police have arrested Basavaraju, who was absconding after he allegedly bludgeoned his wife and mother-in-law to death on Tuesday night.

Police said the accused had fled to his house in Chitradurga after killing his 23-year-old wife Chandrakala and mother-in-law Omkaramma over a family dispute.
