BENGALURU:Three transgenders made away with Rs 5,000 from a cab driver in Vijayanagar on Saturday morning.
The police said at around 11.30 am Basavaraju, a resident of Vijayanagar, was in his cab waiting for a passenger at Vijayanagar bus stop. Just then, three transgenders approached him and asked him for money. He paid them Rs 50 but meanwhile they noticed that Basavaraju had money in his shirt pocket. One of the transgenders snatched the money and escaped.
Basavaraju came to the police station and filed a case stating that he was neither attacked nor threatened by the accused.
Vijayanagar police are verifying CCTV footage from a camera installed in the area for the identity of the accused.
