Smooth Sailing on Day 1 of CET Applications

BENGALURU: The submission of online applications for Common Entrance Test 2015 began on Friday. The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) said the response was good, with 1,373 applications submitted.

After registering, candidates will get a user ID and password and can log in, fill up the application form and apply. They can download a copy of the fee challan.

Of the 1,373 candidates, only 250 have completed the process, and the rest are yet to upload their photographs. Nine have paid the fee.

Many candidates told Express they were happy with the online system. “There is no confusion and it is easy,” said Mouna, an aspirant.

The candidates said it took 20 minutes to upload their applications. However, some students said they could not submit their applications as they were unaware of their ‘PUC number’.

S N Gangadharaiah, administrative officer of KEA, said the PUC student number is a unique one given by the PUC Board.

He added that KEA received no complaints about the online process on day one, but received 100 queries. “KEA has increased (the number of) its helplines from five to 30,” he said.
