Get Property Details on Land Records Website

BENGALURU:  Residents under Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike limits can get their property details on the website landrecords.karnataka.gov.in launched by the Survey, Settlement and Land Records Department on Wednesday.

After the launch, department commissioner Munish Moudgil told Express that many people became landless when they were evicted from lake lands. “These things can be avoided as people now can cross verify the records through the superimposed images put out by the department. The department also requests people to log on to  bhoomi.karnataka.gov.in to check the land ownership.”

He said there are 240 village maps and details of every ward on the website. The process to cover 220 lakes has also begun.

In the next 15 days, all details of the lakes will also be put up. This will save people from buying lake land that will mean eviction later, he said.

Department Joint Director Rudresh said this facility is available in Bengaluru, and in the next six months, the rest of the state will be covered with 30,000 village maps. “The department has used its own tech team to design the software.”

Commissioner Moudgil also warned his subordinates of suspension for dereliction of duty. As a precedent, he has ordered the suspension of three officials — RJ Nagendra Swamy from Bengaluru South and S Shabreesh and J Mallesh, both from Chinthamani.
