Hearing on Waste Plant Held

BENGALURU: The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), in association with BBMP, on Thursday conducted a public hearing at Chikkanagamangala village in Sarjapur hobli, where the civic agency has proposed to set up a waste processing unit.

KSPCB Chairman Vaman Acharya told Express that public hearings were pending in eight places including Chikkanagamangala and Lingadeeranahalli in Banashankari 6th Stage. “There is not much public opposition to the plants,” he said.

At Chikkanagamangala, BBMP is constructing a waste processing unit with a capacity of 500 metric tonnes.  BBMP Joint Commissioner (Bommanahalli) Muniraju said construction work is almost complete.
