BENGALURU: The Home Department has extended its June 2014 order for another year, allowing bars and pubs to remain open till 1 am on weekends, while eateries can serve food well after midnight on all days.

City Police Commissioner M N Reddi told Express that the order was extended as the police force is capable of providing security.

In June last year, the Department had issued an order extending night life in the city for one year.

Pubs were allowed to remain open till 1 am on Saturdays and Sundays and eateries till 1 am on all days.

“There is no change in patrolling. We will continue to patrol in the night hours on all days and more number of personnel will be deployed near bars and pubs on weekends,” the Police Commissioner said.
