BENGALURU:The Transport Department on Tuesday continued its enforcement drive in Cubbon Park near the Secretariat building.
The officials checked 1,964 vehicles and booked cases against 92 vehicles for violation of registration plate rules.
Officials also checked vehicles for other violations like lack of emission control certificates and tinted glasses. “Vehicle owners must adhere to the specifications on registration number plates as specified in Rule 50 and 51 of CMV rules or else such number plates will be seized on the spot and action will be taken against the vehicle owners,” a statement from the department said.
The drive also revealed several vehicles which had non-standard registration number plates as well as private vehicles hired by government departments sporting ‘Government of Karnataka’ boards.
Action was also initiated against cars which had glaring lights fitted in the front.
