BENGALURU: Members of the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest against the state government’s decision to trifurcate Bangalore University here on Thursday.
The protesters gathered in front of Central College and urged the government to withdraw the proposal. By trifurcating the university, its importance will be lost, the protesters said.
They demanded all colleges in Bengaluru must be affiliated to the existing varsity. The protesters said the trifurcation will hamper the ability of varsities to abide by the University Grants Commission regulations.
