BENGALURU: Depressed after his wife’s untimely death, an employee of a private company committed suicide after killing his 11-month-old daughter at Rajagopalanagar near Laggere on Monday.
The deceased is Guru (28) of Magadi, who was residing at Choudeshwarinagar.
Police said Guru first smothered his daughter Rishika in the afternoon and then hanged himself from the ceiling. He had been married for three years to Vijayalakshmi, who died 11 days ago from an illness she was suffering from after her daughter’s birth.
Guru and his daughter had gone to his wife’s funeral at Magadi. Police did not find any note but said he had told his family that he blamed himself for his wife’s death, as he was unable to get her good medical care.
