Chinese couple arrested in Bengaluru for assaulting an on duty police officer

The arrested has been identified as Jassi, a Chinese citizen and her husband Prashanth, a native of Hubballi and resident of HSR Layout in Bengaluru.

The arrested has been identified as Jassi, a Chinese citizen and her husband Prashanth, a native of Hubballi and resident of HSR Layout in Bengaluru. 

According to police, on Wednesday around 12.20am, Jassi and Prashanth were heading from M G Road and while taking a U turn, both fell down. A police constable who was on duty near Manikshaw parade ground approached the duo to help. The duo who were reportedly under the influence of alcohol took against the police. Jassi abused cops for touching her husband. While, police started to record visuals of the couple, Jassi has allegedly assaulted the police constable and have slapped him. However, entire act was recorded by the police."

The police said, "she was in such a state of mind that we would oblige if she bribe us. In the video she told, "all you want is money, tell me how much i shall give you."

The police said, "though Pulikeshinagar ACP Noorulla Shariff tried to convince the lady she was not in a state to listen and also took against him. Later, the duo were subjected to medical examination."

Prashanth, a techie is married to Jassi since 7 years. The couple were staying in China since then and had shifted to Bengaluru two months ago. 

Commercial street police have registered the case under IPC 332 (Voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty) and have arrested the accused.
