Man stabs mother-in-law to death

BENGALURU: A 47-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her son in-law over a family dispute at Sunkadakatte in Kamakshipalya on Tuesday morning. The victim Manjula is a resident of Basaveshwaranagar. The accused Nagaraj Nayak works for a solar equipment distribution company and he is at large.

Kamakshipalya police said Nagaraj married Sumalatha, Manjula’s daughter, about five years ago. The couple has a two-year-old son and reside in a rented house in Kebbahalli on Magadi Road. Nagaraj suspected Sumalatha’s fidelity and often quarrelled with her. Sumalatha had gone to her mother’s house on Sunday and returned on Tuesday. The couple started quarrelling over Nagaraj speaking to another woman. When the argument became serious, Sumalatha called her mother. Manjula rushed to the couple’s house and engaged in a quarrel with Nagaraj, who took a kitchen knife and stabbed her. Sumalatha ran away from the house after locking them inside.

2 killed in road accident

Two motorcyclists died when their two-wheeler rammed into a tow truck on Ballari Road near Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) on Monday night.

According to Devanahalli traffic police, the deceased have been identified as Mahaboob Ali (26), a native of Kurnool, and Abhilash K V (24), a native of Madikeri. Both were employees of The Lotus House, a handicrafts store at KIA. The incident took place around 11pm when the duo was heading back to their residence after work. Mahaboob was riding his Bajaj Pulsar when it hit a tow truck from the rear. 

Man knifed to death by relative

A 29-year-old employee of a garment shop was stabbed to death by his relative over an old rivalry in DJ Halli on Monday. The police arrested accused Baba soon after the incident.The victim Fayaz Pasha was a resident of Bhuvaneshwari Nagar.
