BENGALURU: A five-year-old girl died after a water tanker ran over her in Chikkajala on Wednesday. Police said Divya was the second child of of Nagalakshmi and Venkatesh. Nagalakshmi lives in Vinayakanagar on Bagalur Road.
Police said, “Around 1.45 pm, Divya and her aunt Padma were walking to Padma’s son’s school to pick him up. A water tanker that was coming out of an apartment complex on to the road ran over Divya, who was walking ahead of Padma.” Passersby nabbed the driver, Tirupathi, and handed him over to the police.
Police said Tirupathi is a native of Kalaburagi. A case has been registered.
