BENGALURU: The family of Pathankot martyr Lt Col Niranjan E K, who was named for the Shaurya Chakra, is happy that his supreme sacrifice has been recognised. His mother Radha Shivarajan said, “His memories are always with us”.
She, however, said that recent incidents following her son’s martyrdom had affected her, including the recent directions to clear a pillar of their residence, as it was allegedly built on encroached land.
Lt Col Niranjan’s younger brother Shashankan said, “The whole nation has recognised his sacrifice. We are feeling very happy and proud. Both Dad and Mom are very proud about Niranjan being conferred the Shaurya Chakra. It is a good gift for Independence Day. We are all happy, the entire family is happy.”
