Malleswaram blast case: Another accused arrested from TN

BENGALURU: An accused in the 2013 Malleswaram bomb blast case was arrested from Sathyamangalam in Tamil Nadu on August 15. Mohammed Ali Khan (45) was earlier convicted in the 1998 Coimbatore serial blasts case, where then BJP president L K Advani was to address a rally. Fifteen people had died in the blasts. Khan was sentenced to life imprisonment but was released in 2010 after serving 12 years in jail.

Police sources said that Khan is a founding member of Al-Umma, a terrorist organisation in India. Khan was involved in planning the Malleswaram bomb blast and had supplied materials for it.

There are 20 accused in the Malleswaram blast case and 17 have been arrested so far.
