UK man on work trip found dead in hotel room

BENGALURU: A 52-year-old UK national, who was on an official visit to India, was found dead at his hotel room in Marathahalli on Monday. Preliminary investigations showed that the man died of a cardiac arrest.

A senior police officer said Owen Keith Michael, an employee of JP Morgan in London, had checked into Courtyard Marriot Hotel on August 16. On Monday, Owen was supposed to leave for office around afternoon. The driver who came to pick him up called repeatedly, but there was no response. The driver approached hotel staff, who went to his room and found Owen unconscious in the bathroom.

Hotel authorities informed HAL police. A doctor examined him and declared that Owen died of a cardiac arrest.  “We are are waiting for postmortem report to find the cause for his death,” a police officer said.
