Rift between gangs over arrangements for Ganapathi festival, leaves one dead

BENGALURU: In a rift between two gangs over the arrangements for Ganapathi festival, a 21 year old youth was chased by a gang and he died after accidentally falling from a under construction building on Monday night.

The deceased has been identified as Nashal (21), a resident of SR Layout. The incident took place on Monday night when two gangs started to fight over arrangements for Ganapathi festival. The locals who noticed it consoled two gangs and had asked them to go to their homes. But a gang chased Nashal.

In an attempt to escape from them Nashal climbed a under construction building and was walking on a pipe to get down to the other side of the building. The pipe broke down and Nashal fell down to the group. The locals who saw Nashal lying in a pool of blood took him to Bowring hospital where doctors declared he was brought dead.

A case has been registered in airport road police station and the accused who led to the incident are at large.
