BENGALURU: A 20-year-old diploma student at PES College was stabbed by a group of unidentified persons behind the college premises in Banashankari around 2pm on Tuesday. He succumbed to the injuries later in the night.

The deceased has been identified as Harsha, a resident of Hanumantha Nagar in the city.
“The accused hit Harsha from behind with an iron rod and stabbed him multiple times before fleeing from the spot. Passersby, who noticed Harsha lying in a pool of blood, took him to KIMS hospital. He was later admitted to JD Hospital, where he did not respond to treatment and died,” police said.

Hanumantha Nagar police have registered a case of murder and started investigation into the case.
“We did not get any CCTV footage from the locality and the motive behind the crime is yet to be ascertained,” said the investigating officer.
Earlier, a couple of hospitals even refused to admit Harsha during the golden hour, they said.
