2 held for making vulgar comments on Ugrappa

Vidhana Soudha police on Saturday arrested two men including a teacher of a private college on charges of making vulgar and derogatory comments against  MLC V S Ugrappa, chairman of the Committee on Atrocities on Women and Children. 

BENGALURU: Vidhana Soudha police on Saturday arrested two men including a teacher of a private college on charges of making vulgar and derogatory comments against  MLC V S Ugrappa, chairman of the Committee on Atrocities on Women and Children. 


The accused are said to be devotees of the Ramachandrapur Mutt. Based on the complaint by Ugrappa, police have booked them for threatening the MLC on social media. Ugrappa stated in his complaint that 90 devotees posted comments on Facebook using filthy and intimidating languageover Ugrappa’s statement demanding the sacking of Ramachandrapur Mutt seer Raghaveshwara Bharati Swami. 


A senior police officer said, “The arrested are Pradeep, an M.Ed graduate  who works in a private college in Davangere, and Arun Hegde, a diploma graduate who runs an electrical shop in Shivamogga. We are interrogating them as part of the investigation and will produce them before a court to hand over them to judicial custody.”
