BENGALURU: A massive fire broke out in a computer gowdown in Gowripalya near Mysuru-Bengaluru road on Friday night. The building with a stockpile of computers was gutted while 20 vehicles were damaged. Short circuit is suspected to have caused it.
The incident took place around 9.30pm behind Shell petrol bunk.
Fire personnel said, “A huge number of computers was stored in a tiny room. As the houses are close to each other and a petrol bunk nearby, we are ensuring that the fire does not spread. The building has been reduced to ashes. We are yet to ascertain the loss incurred. There have been no casualties so far. Residents in the vicinity have been shifted out.” Ten firefighting vehicles were pressed into service.
Traffic on the Mysuru-Bengaluru road too was affected.
