BENGALURU:  Having faced problems in spotting the sports clubs in the city, Vikash Singh decided to start a platform to provide all relevant information about them. He took help of his friends for this.

Being a sports enthusiast, he has played Table Tennis at zonal level.

“I searched for sports clubs in Bengaluru on Google and it shared links of irrelevant websites. The information on JustDial was also not valid. I gave up and went directly to a sports club then.”

He started working on the idea in February last year and launched the website Sportzify after six months in July.

The start up, helps you with the information of all the sports clubs in the city. It also enables you to do bookings online after checking out the availability, pricing, coaching and other facilities. They have more than 100 clubs on their platform.

Sportzify launched their app last week and they are expanding their services to Hyderabad and Pune in two months. They will be adding fitness and wellness too.

Vikash feels the sports industry is highly unorganised and lacks technology. He says, “The bookings are still done over calls. There is no use of technology by the sports clubs. The industry needs digitsation.”

The platform also showcases information on all sports events across the country. Short weekend badminton tournaments also hosted by the start-up.

He says, “We have more than five small badminton tournaments in a month at different badminton clubs in the city. We call it Weekend Badminton Bash.” They have their next tournament on June 29 and Marathon on July 16.

According to him, badminton is the most loved sport in the city followed by marathons.
