BENGALURU: The only technical university of the state, Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, is headless and the university also does not have an administrative in-charge.
With the resignation of in-charge vice-chancellor Dr Shekarappa, the university is practically without any official to discharge the duties. Two days ago, the Registrar-Administration Prof K E Prakash resigned from the post of Registrar-Administration, which was followed by resignation of in-charge V-C on Monday.
However, the governor has not yet accepted the resignation. Even if it is accepted, Shekarappa has to continue as Registrar- Evaluation. Meanwhile, there is a demand from students and staff to appoint an administration officer or regular V-C for the university.
