BENGALURU: Traffic movement on Airport Road is expected to be badly affected on Wednesday as over one lakh people are expected to attend the wedding of mining baron and former minister Gali Janardhan Reddy’s daughter at Palace Grounds.

The wedding is likely to cause traffic issues on Ballari Road on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Palace Grounds which is already in the ‘possession’ of the Reddys, is being readied to give visitors a glimpse of the Vijayanagar empire. Private security has been deployed at the grounds and bouncers have been posted at all entry points. Entry to the public and media is restricted

While most of the marriages in Palace Grounds take place in the private palace that belongs to the Wadiyar family, Reddy has recreated the ancient Vijayanagar empire on Palace Grounds. He was in Bengaluru recently to invite film personalities and politicians including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for the wedding.
The wedding caught people’s imagination after the invitation, with a video of the Reddy family inviting people to the wedding, went viral on social media. Politicians and movie stars from various states are expected to attend the wedding.

In Ballari, BJP Yuva Morcha members are inviting people across the district to the marriage and posting on ‘Janardhan Reddy Abhimanigala Sangha’ (Janardhan Reddy fans association) account on Facebook.
Sources said, “Large display screens, free wi-fi hotspots, jimmy jib cameras, drone cameras and many more hi-tech equipment will be used during the wedding. Set designers who are the best in the industry have been hired to make Palace Grounds to look like heaven.”

Sources said the Reddy family has arranged bus facilities for all people who will attend the wedding. A large number of people are expected to arrive from Reddy’s home town Ballari.

In 2015, Janardhan Reddy was granted conditional bail and had restricted from entering Ballari. However, for his daughter’s wedding, he has been allowed to visit Ballari from November 1 to November 21.
