BENGALURU: The HAL police have arrested a 26-year-old techie from Hyderabad for allegedly blackmailing a woman. The accused is Raju Borancha, a resident of Begumpet in Hyderabad. The complainant is Priyanka Mindala, a resident of Marathahalli and a techie working with TCS in Bengaluru.

According to police, Borancha had proposed to Priyanka but she had rejected it. She was engaged to someone else. Borancha then started harassing Priyanka by threatening to send her personal photographs to her fiance and family members. He did this anonymously through a fake Facebook account and many phone numbers.
Police said that Borancha had met Priyanka in Hyderabad four years ago. Priyanka was working as an intern in the company where Borancha was working. He had then proposed to Priyanka but she rejected him. However, the two continued to be friends.

Sometime later, Priyanka’s laptop had a few issues and Borancha took it for repair. He then accessed her personal files and got some of her personal photographs.
