BENGALURU: The cash crisis continued to haunt the city even on Saturday as not many ATMs were functioning. Banks too stayed shut. The few ATMs that were working were dispensing only `2,000 currency notes, leaving many disappointed. Most of the ATMs wore the boards “No Cash” or “Out of Service”.
Rakesh, a resident of Basaveshwara Nagar in North Bengaluru, said he saw ATMs dispensing cash in his area. ATMs were also functioning in Rajajinagar, Malleswaram, Devaiah Park and South Bengaluru. In Central Business District the ATMs were open but were cashless.
Roopesh Kumar, a private firm employee, said he tried many ATMs on Infantry Road but none were dispensing cash. “I somehow managed to get some cash from my friend to meet urgent needs,” he said.
