BENGALURU: Many state government vehicles were found to be plying without valid documents particularly Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificates, a joint inspection by the Transport Department and Karnataka State Control Pollution Board on Monday reveals.

Officials said a total of 856 vehicles were checked, of which 187 vehicles were booked, which includes 37 government vehicles for not having valid documents, during a special drive conducted at Cubbon Park area.
Joint commissioner of transport for Bengaluru Urban J Gnanendra Kumar said they have decided to intensify the drive across the city to create an awareness among motorists on air pollution.

“All vehicle owners are requested to keep their vehicles in good condition and to carry valid Pollution Under Control Certificates” he said.
