BENGALURU: Tamil actor Sathyaraj who portrayed the role of ‘Kattappa’ in S S Rajamouli’s Baahubali tendered an apology on Friday following protests against him by Kannada groups. Even after the apology, leader of a Kannada organisation Vatal Nagaraj refused to allow the film’s release, terming Sathyaraj’s apology as half-hearted.
He had also called for a city-wide bandh on April 28 in protest against Sathyaraj. KFCC president Sa Ra Govindu said a decision in this regard will be taken on Saturday morning. The protests were sparked by a video which shows Sathyaraj making remarks against Kannadigas at a rally in Tamil Nadu regarding the Cauvery water issue in 2009.
