Armed men barge into Bengaluru party, rob four friends

A birthday party turned horrific for four friends after a gang of six armed men, wearing masks, barged into their house and robbed them of valuables.

BENGALURU: A birthday party turned horrific for four friends after a gang of six armed men, wearing masks, barged into their house and robbed them of valuables in Srinagar 9th cross, Pipeline road on Sunday night. Police said that the incident took place around 10.30pm. Complainant Muralidhar(30) had hosted a birthday party for his friend Harish at his residence, which is in the fourth floor of the building. When the gang entered the building, the four friends were having their dinner.

The gang, threatened them with a machete, snatched gold chain and other valuables and fled the scene. None of them were harmed.Muralidhar and his friends, who were in a state of shock, alerted the neighbours who called Hanumanthnagar police. Finger print experts and dog squad were rushed to the spot who gathered evidences at the crime scene.Muralidhar, who works in an automobile company, and stays alone in the house.

According to police, the gang had come in an autorickshaw and a pulsar bike. Preliminary investigations revealed that one of the tenants in the building may have tipped-off the gang members.

A special team has been formed to nab them. Also, there is no CCTV camera in the area. A passerby told police that he saw the vehicles used by the miscreants but could not see the number because there is no street light on this stretch.
