BENGALURU: Residents on Sunday staged a protest at Murphy Town against the demolition of British-era heritage building to make way for an Indira Canteen. The move to raze a library, believed to be over 100 years old, caused an immediate outcry from the citizens. Residents said they would continue visiting the place with their kids. They also questioned why the civic body razed the structure during the night.
The BBMP officials said the building was too dilapidated and dangerous to use.
