‘No clue about miscreant who stabbed passenger’

Yeshvanthpur police on Friday questioned some suspects in connection with the stabbing of a woman passenger inside the Dadar-Puducherry Express  at Yesvanthpur railway station in a chain snatching bid.

BENGALURU: Yeshvanthpur police on Friday questioned some suspects in connection with the stabbing of a woman passenger inside the Dadar-Puducherry Express  at Yesvanthpur railway station in a chain snatching bid.

A senior railway police officer said preliminary investigation revealed that a bike-borne man stopped his vehicle at the junction and entered the train. A special team has been formed to nab the miscreant. “We suspect that he is a habitual offender. Based on information given by the injured Rajeshwari, we are putting all efforts to nab the suspect, but so far, we have no clues in the case. We also checked CCTV footage but there is no clarity,” he said.

Rajeshwari (25) from Mumbai was inside a sleeper compartment of the train heading from Mumbai to Puducherry on Tuesday. The train had stopped for a couple of minutes at the station when Rajeshwari was attacked inside S4 coach. She is a fishmonger at Mulund in Mumbai.
