Three of family held for obstructing BDA official

Three people of a family, including a woman, were arrested on charges of obstructing a Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) official from discharging his duty on Friday.

BENGALURU: Three people of a family, including a woman, were arrested on charges of obstructing a Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) official from discharging his duty on Friday.

A police official said Raja J M, Rani and Shashi, residents of Adugodi area, had been waiting for about 10 years for the allotment of a site in Arkavathy Layout.

They vented their ire at BDA secretary Basavaraju B A in his chamber at the BDA head office and used foul language against him at 3.45 pm on Friday.

Following this, the secretary lodged a complaint at the Seshadripuram police station, and the trio were taken into custody.

They were booked under Section 353 of the IPC on charges of obstructing a public servant from discharging his duty. Police said the three accused were released on bail on the same day.
