TV actress among two held with fake currency note in Bengaluru

A 45-year-old television actress and her associate were arrested on Wednesday for circulating fake currency of Rs 2,000.

BENGALURU:  A 45-year-old television actress and her associate were arrested on Wednesday for circulating fake currency of Rs 2,000.

Dobbspet police recovered Rs 2.5 lakh from them at the time of arrest.  The arrested are Jayamma and her associate Govindaraju (51), an auto driver.

Jayamma has appeared in ‘Mukund, Murari’.

Police said that Jayamma tried to use a fake Rs 2,000 note at a shop in Dobbspet on Wednesday. The shop keeper grew suspicious and alerted police.

Before police reached the spot, she started running away with Govindaraju. Passersby chased them and nabbed the duo. They told police that the money belonged to another person and they were trying to exchange it.
