Four held for kidnap bid on BJP leader Eshwarappa’s assistant

Four people who allegedly tried to kidnap BJP leader K S Eshwarappa’s personal assistant Vinay were arrested on Friday. 

BENGALURU: Four people who allegedly tried to kidnap BJP leader K S Eshwarappa’s personal assistant Vinay were arrested on Friday. 

The arrested are Kishore, Abhishek, Selva and Ayyappa. Another accused, Prashanth, is still on the run.

According to police, the accused were acting on another person’s instructions. Police said the reason for the kidnap bid is yet to be ascertained. Police have been given custody of the four arrested till June 12.

Police said Kishore and Ayyappa were earlier involved in a murder case in Electronics City. They were in jail and were released on bail recently.

A police source said, “Vinay was carrying a few contract and tender documents and the accused may have tried to kidnap him to take it.”

On May 11, Vinay was heading home after visiting a friend when the accused came in a car and stopped Vinay’s car near ISKCON temple and tried to kidnap him. When Vinay protested and screamed for help, the accused fled from the spot. Vinay filed a complaint the same day.
