BENGALURU: A woman would stand alone and lure drivers on NICE Road on the pretext of soliciting sex. Those falling prey to her nefarious design were later attacked by her gang hiding at a secluded place nearby. This was the modus operandi of a notorious gang, which was busted by Electronics City police on Thursday.

Thirteen members, including the woman, were arrested. Police said they confessed to their involvement in as many as 25 similar cases. The arrested are Monisha(20), Sawan alias Bablu(24), Mutthuraj(20), Puneeth alias Kaadi(19), Thulasiram(23), Arun Esuraj(22), Stephan Raj alias Mukudi(22), Vignesh alias Deela(18), Amar(25), Santhkumar(21), Keshavamurthy(21)and Deepak George(24). They hail from different parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Bengaluru city.

A senior police officer said that the prime accused Bablu used to hatch the robbery plot and he only decided the particular area where Monisha would stand to attract drivers. She would pass provocative gestures at the drivers and on getting down from the vehicles, she would take them to an isolated place. Subsequently, Bablu and his aides used to attack the drivers and rob them off valuables.
After a recent tip-off, police kept an eye on the gang. They found the behaviour of Bablu suspicious and he was taken into custody. Bablu’s associates were selling robbed valuables in Chickpet and SP Road markets.
