BBMP, BDA get notices on illegal construction

The High Court issued a notice to the commissioners of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike and Bangalore Development Authority.​

BENGALURU: Acting on a public interest litigation seeking CBI or CID probe into an alleged illegal construction on a civic amenity site at Mylasandra Layout in Bengaluru South taluk, the High Court issued a notice to the commissioners of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike and Bangalore Development Authority.

Hearing the petition filed by one N P Shekhar, a resident of Banashankari 3rd Stage, a division bench of Chief Justice Subhro Kamal Mukherjee an Justice R B Budihal also issued a notice to Shrusti Developers and a few private parties. 

The petitioner contended that Shrusti Developers and others are violating norms by constructing an apartment on a 20,000 sqft plot, which is a civic amenity site at Mylasandra, Kengeri hobli. 

Although the High Court had already asked the BBMP commissioner to take action against the representation submitted by Shekhar, the authorities did not take any action. As a result, the private parties have commenced the construction work, Shekhar added.
