BENGALURU: A 39-year-old widow has filed a case of rape and atrocity against a businessman for allegedly sexually assaulting her over the last sixteen years after promising to marry her.
The woman, who works in a private company, approached Sanjaynagar police on February 19 and lodged a complaint that a Gujarat-based businessman had affairs with several women and would blackmail them after recording their sexual acts.
A senior police officer said that in her complaint, the woman alleged that she was in a live-in relationship with Pradeep Kumar since 2010. But he had been sexually assaulting her earlier too.
When she forced him to marry, he started blackmailing her by video-recording the act and threatening to upload it on websites. Recently, he abused her in the name of caste and refused to marry her.
Pradeep Kumar is absconding ever since the Sanjaynagar police filed an FIR. A special team has been formed to arrest him.
