BENGALURU: A local BJP leader was hacked to death near Hebbagodi in Anekal taluk early Tuesday by a gang of unidentified car-borne men. He was out on his morning walk at 5 am and died on the spot, in what police suspect to be political rivalry.
The deceased, Srinivas Prasad, also known as Kittaganahalli Vasu, (42) was a Dalit leader and BJP member of Bommasandra town municipal council. His wife Shailaja is a member of Bengaluru Urban zilla panchayat and the family resides at Kittaganahalli near Anekal.
Kittaganahalli Srinivas’ supporters staged a protest to condemn the attack and blocked Hosur main road. Police resorted to mild caning to disperse the supporters, and have formed two teams to nab the accused.
