A senior police officer said that Hori was an habitual offender and was involved in many bike thefts. From the last two years he was abducting minor girls on the pretext of buying them lunch, and would take them to isolated places and rape them.

Recently, Hori asked a girl, a fruit vendor, to accompany him to a relative’s house for a housewarming ceremony in Rajanukunte on Doddaballapura Road. Later, he forced her to stay back with him in the night telling that he would drop her the next day near her residence.

Police who were informed about the incident came to know that there were similar incidents reported in RR Nagar and Banashankari police station.

A special team was formed to nab the accused. Police first gathered vehicle details of Hori and then gathered information about him and nabbed him at his house late on Monday night. During the interrogation the accused confessed to the crime.

Police said, “He would usually target minor girls who would be alone in their colonies and would take them to isolated places and rape them. Later, he would threaten them not to tell anyone about the incident.”
“As he knew minors will not remember his identity, he would only target them. He has been taken into custody and further investigations are on,” police said.
