IAS officer demands files in English, chided

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has criticised the decision of senior IAS officer Srivatsa Krishna to send official files in English.

BENGALURU: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has criticised the decision of senior IAS officer Srivatsa Krishna to send official files in English. Speaking to reporters on Friday, he said it was wrong of Krishna to demand files in English and all officers must conduct administration in Kannada.
“It is mandatory that they use Kannada. I will get more information on this and take action,” he said.
A complaint had been lodged with the Kannada Development Authority from the employees of Department of Public Enterprise, where Srivatsa Krishna is the Secretary.
