2 men try to snatch phone, stab KAS officer

Two bike-borne men stabbed a KAS grade officer near his house while attempting to snatch his mobile phone.

BENGALURU: Two bike-borne men stabbed a KAS grade officer near his house while attempting to snatch his mobile phone. The incident took place at Visveswarayya Layout on Sunday evening.
K M Jagadeesh, joint director of Department of Commerce and Industries, is admitted to a nearby hospital. According to his family members, he is out of danger.
Police said Jagadeesh was taking his walk at 6.30pm and was speaking over the phone when two miscreants tried to snatch it away.
When Jagadeesh resisted and caught hold of one of the miscreants, he was stabbed on his neck and stomach with a knife.

Passersby found him lying in a pool of blood and rushed him to a hospital.
Police said Jagadeesh’s house was just half a kilometre away from where he was attacked and the miscreants may have waited for him to reach an isolated spot.
In his complaint, Jagadeesh told the police that he had never seen his attackers before.
Annapoorneshwari Layout police have registered a case under Section 307 of the IPC (attempt to murder) and efforts are on to nab the culprits.
