Search on for one more in Bengaluru molestation case

Chikkajala police, probing the case where a college student was molested and her friend assaulted on Kempegowda International Airport road on Sunday night, are now on the look-out for one more member

BENGALURU: Chikkajala police, probing the case where a college student was molested and her friend assaulted on Kempegowda International Airport road on Sunday night, are now on the look-out for one more member of the gang.

Police have examined phone call records and found that the prime accused Manjunath had not contacted his friends prior to the incident and hence, they believe it was not pre-planned.

“Efforts are on to nab one more person who is an autodriver. We have asked the complainant and her friend to give a statement before the magistrate. She has asked for two days time to appear before the magistrate.

The investigation is still in progress. Meanwhile, medical tests too needs to be done,” said a senior police officer.

On Sunday, the woman, a resident of Tindlu, and her friend were riding on a motorbike when a scooterist started misbehaving with them and assaulted them.

The victims managed to escape from the scene and then approached Chikkajala police. The girl had recorded the incident on her phone and provided the footage to the police who then arrested Manjunath, Ravi, Krishna and Praveen.
