BENGALURU: Parents have made a shocking revelation in connection with the horrific sexual abuse incidents reported at one of the top pre-school chains in the city recently. The accused supervisor of the pre-school allegedly used to give ‘injections’ to kids, they have stated in the complaint filed with National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR).

A couple of parents have approached the NCPCR seeking action against school authorities.
Following the complaint by parents, the NCPCR has written to Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KCPCR), asking them to conduct an inquiry and submit report on the same. The communication to KCPCR stated: “As it is told by several kids, the parents have alleged that the supervisor of the pre-school Manjunath used to give injections to kids.”

The parents also raised serious allegations against the police officials in handling the case.
“Parents have also alleged that the senior police officer Hemanth Nimbalkar refused to file individual FIRs in the case,” the letter read.

The national panel has directed the state commission to submit its probe report along with the copies of children’s statements recorded by police.

When the case was reported in February, there was no mention about the accused giving injections to kids. But in the complaint to the national commission, parents mentioned about the injections, which is a serious allegation. Parents are demanding a thorough probe.

“Many of our kids said that Manjunath used to give injections if they cried or were cranky in the classroom. We are scared and hence filed a complaint with National Commission. We need justice and the truth must come out in open,” said a parent.

“Only investigation can reveal the truth. We want the investigation to be without any influence or pressure. Till date, police have not taken any action against the school management and all authorities are out on bail,” another parent added.

Parent of 3-year-old girl first reported the abuse
In February, the parent of a 3-year-old girl, who was a student at the pre-school in Bellandur, filed an FIR against the supervisor for allegedly sexually abusing their girl. The assault was proved in the medical investigation. Police filed a case under POCSO Act and arrested Manjunath.

A day later, six more parents filed cases under POCSO Act, alleging their kids underwent similar ordeal. Demanding action against the school authorities, who allegedly refused to file complaint in the beginning, parents staged protests. Police then arrested the school principal and two other representatives, who are now out on bail.
