Cops arrest four realtors in Bengaluru, seize Rs 4.98 crore invalid notes

The CCB police have arrested four realtors in different incidents for allegedly attempting to exchange demonetised currency notes and seized Rs 4.98 crore in total from them.

BENGALURU:The CCB police have arrested four realtors in different incidents for allegedly attempting to exchange demonetised currency notes and seized Rs 4.98 crore in total from them.

In the first incident, police arrested Ambrose David (42) of Jayanagar, Arif Pasha (34) of Bannerghatta Road and Felix (35) from Kerala. The three of them were going to Rajajinagar to exchange the scrapped notes when police stopped their car on West of Chord Road. They were taken into custody. They told the police that a businessman had contacted them promising to exchange their invalid currency for a commission of 58 per cent. A special team has been formed to nab the businessman.

In another incident, Nanjunda (46),  was arrested from Bull Temple Road in Basavanagudi. Police seized Rs 3 crore from him. Acting on a tip-off, police stopped his car and took him into custody.

During interrogation, he said his friends Arun and Manjunath had given him the money to hand over to an NRI. He admitted that he was offered a commission. Police are looking out for the NRI.
