Two held for stealing from KV principal’s chamber in Malleswaram

Two former security guards of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Malleswaram, were arrested for allegedly trying to steal computers and other valuables worth Rs 2.5 lakh, from the principal’s chamber.

BENGALURU: Two former security guards of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Malleswaram, were arrested for allegedly trying to steal computers and other valuables worth Rs 2.5 lakh from the principal’s chamber.

The arrested are -- Prem and Lakshman -- who were working as security guards at the institution, two years ago.

According to Sadashivanagar police, on March 24th night, the accused entered the principal’s chamber and tried to steal computers, CPUs and other valuables. “As soon as they noticed Rajgopal, a security guard of the institute, they left all the valuables and fled the spot. The incident came to light only on March 25 when the principal came to his office and noticed the valuables placed haphazardly,” the police said.

A complaint was filed with the Sadashivanagar police. Based on the CCTV footage, police identified the accused and nabbed them from Nandini Layout.

Police have registered a case and the accused have been sent to judicial custody.
