BENGALURU: As a precautionary measure to prevent possible violence during the Ganapathi procession and immersion on Sunday, the City Police Commissioner has ordered prohibition of sale of liquor in Yelahanka and its adjoining areas.

A release by the City Police Commissionerate states that the decision has been taken following a report by DCP North East. Thousands of people are expected to attend a procession with 30-40 Ganeshas, which will pass through the busy roads of Vidyaranyapura Police Station, Golden Jubilee and Chikka Bettahalli mosque road before concluding at Yelahanka’s Allalasandra lake kalyani.
The report points out to the possible violence during the procession as a few miscreants have planned to disturb peace and harmony.
