BENGALURU: Three of a family died when a speeding truck ran over them after knocking down their two-wheeler at Madiwala on Wednesday night. The deceased are Abdul Fayaz (33), his wife Sultana (28) and their son Abdul Shahid (6). The incident occurred around 11 pm near the petrol pump junction on Hosur Road close to St John’s Hospital.
Cops said Abdul and his wife were wearing helmets, but the child was not. The two-wheeler was taking a turn on to St John’s Hospital road. The couple and their son, from Ramachandrapura in Srirampura, were on their way to visit Sultana’s parents in Madiwala. They were carrying two bags on the two-wheeler. The bodies were shifted to St John’s Hospital. The truck driver abandoned the vehicle and fled. Police are now on the lookout for him. Madiwala traffic police have registered a case.
