Prakash Raj files plaint against website

Actor Prakash Raj has filed a complaint against the owner and authors of Postcard.news website, accusing them of publishing derogatory articles against him.

BENGALURU: Actor Prakash Raj has filed a complaint against the owner and authors of Postcard.news website, accusing them of publishing derogatory articles against him. The police have registered an FIR under the provisions of the IT Act.

Prakash Raj, who went to the Cubbon Park police station on Wednesday, filed a formal complaint stating that the website carried  articles against him in the last several months that were derogatory in nature. The website had started publishing derogatory articles against the actor after he started criticising the PM for his alleged silence in connection with the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh, he said.

On last Thursday, the  CCB police had arrested Mahesh Vikram Hegde, the owner of the website, for allegedly promoting communal enmity and trying to blemish  Congress government in Karnataka, following a plaint that the website had spread false news that a Jain Muni, who was injured in a road accident, was attacked by a Muslim youth.
