Gauri Lankesh murder: Accused dropped out of engineering college

TUMAKURU:  Suresh H L, the 11th person arrested in Gauri murder case, was a BE dropout from Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology in Tumakuru. Hailing from Heruru village in Kunigal taluk, he studied up to Class 7 in his native village and did his PUC in science at Mahatma Gandhi Government PUC College in Kunigal town. He was a studious person and had joined the BE classes at SSIT. Midway, he had developed pro-Hindutva inclination and joined Sanatana Dharma propagating groups and dropped out from college, say sources.

He is married to Deepu of Kadaboranahalli village and they have a two-year-old daughter. The family was living in Bengaluru and he had shifted to KRS Agrahara area in Kunigal soon after he sensed that the police was after him some months ago.

During festivals, he used to visit Heruru. Recently, the RTO had confiscated the car in which he was shifting arecanut bags to Tumakuru’s market as it had no proper documents.His parents Lakshmana and Bhagyamma, farmer couple, wanted their son to do engineering. “He was quite a good boy. It is unfortunate that he is named as one of the accused in the Gauri murder case. We were shocked to hear the news,” said Heruru gram panchayat member Sridhara.
