Bengaluru: Youth killed as bike collides with LPG truck

According to the police, the accident occurred around 8.30 am when Somashekar was on his way to his office in Devanahalli.

BENGALURU:  A 19-year-old employee of a private firm was charred to death after the bike he was riding rammed into a truck carrying LPG cylinders near Devanahalli on Wednesday. The victim is  Somashekar alias Somu, a resident of Bhattaramarenahalli in Devanahalli.

According to the police, the accident occurred around 8.30 am when Somashekar was on his way to his office in Devanahalli.

“Somashekar was overtaking a car when he rammed into the truck that was coming from the opposite direction. The bike collided with the diesel tank of the truck that was carrying over 200 LPG cylinders. The bike was proceeding towards KR Puram.

In no time, fire broke out and gutted the truck,” police said. 
Four fire tenders from Devanahalli were pressed into service and the fire was doused after an hour. 
Traffic on the Devanahalli-Boodigere road was affected for nearly 45 minutes, police added.
